I did not contribute to any of the chapter powerpoints even though I am one of the class leaders. The three group class powerpoints were instead what Drew and I viewed and made notes on. For each individual presentation, we worked with the groups as well. To each of the powerpoint presentations, we included an opening and a conclusion. As a result, we were able to participate in the groups while simultaneously serving as support and guidance for them. I took content from all three of the lectures and utilized it straight in one blog post. I'll talk about what I learnt and what I think each group did well when they gave their presentations. This series of talks focused on universal happiness.Upon completion of all presentations, they were all shortened to around eight minutes apiece and delivered in a symposium.

Group One discussed the topic of happiness in general and focused particularly on happiness in the family and happiness in a good social life. They spoke about family changes over the last five years (particularly in the wake of the COVID epidemic), homelessness, including homelessness among college students, medicare, what the government is doing to assist families with medicare, and what Miami Dade County may do to assist. They also discussed how these concerns are seen in the United States in comparison to other nations. They discussed entertaining activities in Miami and mentioned the Perez Art Museum and the Miami Dade College Museum of Art and Design in particular. In their presentation, they made recommendations for what the city, county, and federal governments should do to promote happiness throughout the United States, with a focus on Miami Dade County. They discussed Knaus Berry Farm, which is in Homestead, and provided comprehensive information on when to go there. They also discussed the Homestead-based Schnebly's Redland's Winery, which hosts weddings, private parties, and wine tasting excursions. They discussed the positive and negative changes that had occurred during the last four to five years. Also, they provided information on entertaining events held at and sponsored by Miami Dade College, including a fitness calendar, the Miami Film Festival, events for Women's History Month, various seminars, and more. They provided us with information on family-friendly and inexpensive activities, including those at the Miami Zoo, the Frost Museum, and "Just for Kids." This crew performed an extremely fantastic job, in my opinion. I acquired knowledge about fresh Miami activities. The interviews they conducted had a significant impact, and group 1's presentation was excellent.

Group two performed a presentation on overall happiness with a focus on the job market and prospective occupations. They discussed how the economy has evolved over the past 20 years and how individuals need to make a decent enough living to pay their expenses and take care of their money. They discussed rising interest rates and inflation as well as how these factors affect the US economy and populace. They discussed professions and technological advancements. They provided a fantastic timeline from the 1950s to the present with details on how workplace changes have influenced the economy as a whole. They talked about the considerations that go into choosing a profession and how crucial it is to make selections that you will be happy with for many years to come because, most likely, you will work in the same position or industry for the bulk of your life. They discussed the significance of taking into account factors like location, stability, education, money, and family while deciding on a job path. They defined the term "economy" and described when and how it affects us. They discussed economic fundamentals including scarcity, supply and demand, costs and benefits, and whether or not consumers themselves should be concerned about the economy. They talked on both the positive and bad effects that technology advancements have had on employment. The function of government in the American economy was also discussed. I think this group did a great job all around. The timeline they made to discuss the economy was quite informative and intriguing. They appeared to be quite informed and well-prepared.

The third group gave a speech about happiness in general, with a particular emphasis on mental health and education. They discussed education and its relationship to happiness. They discussed educational difficulties including student debt and offered advice on how to reduce it. Beginning with when, they provided a thorough history of Miami Dade College in the 1960s, it first opened. They discussed ways to lower the cost of education and concentrated on how Miami Dade College in particular may assist its own students in receiving a more inexpensive education. They contrasted Miami Dade College and other American universities with universities in other continents and talked about how continents like Europe assist in lowering the price of education for students. They talked about how enrollment has increased, more degrees have been granted, and the student population has become more diverse during the last five years. They also discussed mental health a lot. They discussed the initiatives the government is doing to support those with mental health problems. They discussed the public mental health services offered by the government, such as the private services that link you with neighborhood groups. They provided a wealth of mental health services, including hotlines to contact if someone is having trouble and needs someone to talk to. They discussed the government's role in helping and how Miami Dade College can support students with their own mental health challenges. Also, they provided data comparing the state of mental health in the United States to that of other nations. They also discussed how, over the previous five years, mental health has altered in the United States. Overall, this presentation was excellent. They covered a lot of crucial topics, in my opinion, and provided many excellent resources. The fact that they provided so many different hotlines to contact is really vital information, and I liked that they provided it. It was interesting to listen to their talk because they were so educated about their subjects. The presentations made by the students about overall happiness were excellent. They were all incredibly knowledgeable and articulate while discussing their subjects. I had a great time seeing these presentations, and I can't wait to see what comes next!
